Auto Show

First Look for Charity was last night, and it was awesome. No pictures today - my camera got dropped and all jacked up so there are only a few on it (the Transformers!!!!), and I have to wait for my friend to email me all the 1000s I took with her camera. So in a nutshell, I had a fantastic time and did not embarass anyone too much, and will put up pictures later. The end!

Let's Be Realistic

It is no secret that I really like cars - cheap cars, exclusive cars, old cars, terrifyingly fast cars, and so on. But in all reality I will never own (or even be near) a lot of the cars I love. So in the interest of killing time before lunch here is a quick rund0wn of cars that I like and could also own one day. Plus a couple bonus cars at the end that clearly are NOT realistic. :)

1. Ford Fiesta (yes, that's correct...they're bringing it back! At least in Europe...maybe US in a few more years)

2 and 3. Audi A4 and A5 - I have been lusting after the A4 for quite a few years, and it just keeps getting better looking..

4. Mitsubishi Lancer

5. Nissan Maxima - I really like this one..

6. Dodge Challenger SRT

And now the bonus cars! I give you the Maserati Gran Turismo S and the 2009 Aston Martin Vantage. Yow.

Unrelated

* Did you know that gangrene can set in even if the wound/infected area isn't exposed to the air? It can happen completely internally! You learn something new everyday, eh?

* I am really looking forward to the VP debates tonight. It promises to be painful, and funny.

* I think it is incredibly insulting when someone completely ignores you because they think you are beneath them somehow. The president of the place I work has been pretty sick lately, and every once in a while his wife will come in with him when he stops by to sign a few things. I don't think she has ever acknowledged my presence. I'm pretty sure she thinks that because I am a secretary (Executive, for the Vice President, mind) that I am not good enough to warrant a Hello or Good Morning. There have even been times where she has walked up and shut the door at the hallway entrance to keep me totally separated from all the other corporate folks. Even my attempts at talking to her are met with glares. Nice.


* Next weekend I am going to Las Vegas for the Ride. There is a brand new Lamborghini showroom that opened up there so of course it is on very small list of things I want to see. Aside from the Lambos, here are a few of the other cars they have on display (I wonder if they let people sit in them?):
Bugatti Veyron, Koenigsegg, Saleen, Spyker. The value of just one of these cars is more than I will ever see in my lifetime. I'm very excited!

Monday's List

1. The Walk went well - 18,000 people, and approximately $1.4 million as end-of-day totals. The final dollar amount should be done in a few weeks. I am exhausted, sore, and glad to be done with the event until next year.
2. My car was dead this morning. Thanks to the kindness of Leo I was able to attempt a jump, and when that failed, a tow of questionable legality to the Sears Repair center. Now I have a spiffy new battery and a newly-tested alternator and starter.
3. Due to having a really late start at work, I did not take a lunch break. I just discovered that the vending machine is only taking change today and I can't find anybody with quarters to trade for my dollar. Alas, Snickers, we shall not meet this day.
4. I have a copy of my book list back!!! Granted, it's from a year and a half ago, but it is still 4 1/2 pages of glorious book list. I can add the most recent additions for the most part, since I don't add to it all that often, and since I tend to buy the newest additions first, so I have a good chunk of them. But still! My book list!

**UPDATE**
I might get the book list in it's entirety back - a friend is in charge of a slew of IT newbies at her company, and they are willing to take a crack at it to see what can be saved, if anything at all. Hooray!

The Fit is Go

I am 100% going to buy a Honda Fit in the next 6 months or so, providing Doc can hold on just a bit longer (my Cavalier). There is a Honda dealership in the area that has pretty good prices on the '08 Fit, and this morning I had email from them about some big sale they are having starting on Friday and going until the following Monday - the Fit is at cost for this sale. Curses! I need to get some other things in order and try to save some cash before I can buy. Why didn't they consult me before setting up the timing of this sale? Ah well.

In other news, some villian at work has made off with my plastic Transformers cup. Seriously? A plastic cup? Assholes.

I saw a Smart car the other day on my way home from work. Those things are stinking adorable. I don't know that that has to do with these pictures, but that's just the way it is. I desperately want all of the following cars. Especially the Karma.
